Nutrition Team

Every day our nutrition team looks for new ways to support you. Hollyce and Amanda lead the charge in developing new recipes, seminars and classes to help you succeed.

Amanda Schaer

Ask the Nutritionist

Amanda is a certified nutritionist and serves as a resource to the coaching and culinary teams as well as an active participant in the program. She assists the coaching team by establishing guidelines for the program eating plan including ingredients, meal planning, food allergies and intolerances, and any nutritional issues concerning participants. Amanda assists the culinary team in recipe development and testing for current and future Kinetix recipes and products. She teaches nutrition and cooking classes for the Kinetix CHE initiative, and she consults the marketing team on communication issues related to nutrition. Amanda brings a unique education background to Kinetix. She earned a Master's degree in clinical nutrition from Bastyr University, the nation's leading naturopathic university and is a culinary graduate from the Natural Gourmet Institute for Food and Health in New York. She has participated in several internships that studied the effects of lifestyle and nutrition on reproductive cancers. Amanda comes to Kinetix most recently as the staff nutritionist of Graces Kitchen, a local all natural, gourmet, frozen food manufacturer where she did the nutritional analysis and recipe development for several of the company's best selling meals. She lives in Ballard with her husband and daughter.

Hollyce Snyder

Hollyce is responsible for the overall culinary focus of the company, including recipe and product development, cooking classes, and food manufacturing across frozen, fresh, and packaged lines. She brings more than 20 years of professional experience across an impressive array of companies. Prior to joining Kinetix, Hollyce spent 3 years as Culinary Director for Seattle based Grace's Kitchen where she developed an innovative line of gourmet meal kits and was recognized nationwide as a pioneer in creating the super-premium frozen category. Hollyce spent six years with Whole Foods Market as the General Manager of the Northern Pacific Bakehouse. She was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the large-scale commissary; including financial management, strategic planning and product development reflecting Whole Foods' shoppers varied diets ranging from sugar-free, dairy-free and vegan. Though Hollyce began cooking for her family at the tender age of nine, and started catering in her early twenties, her professional career truly ignited in 1986 at Jeremiah Tower's legendary Stars Restaurant, where her infatuation with food led to a ten year stay; rising through the ranks to serve as Pastry Chef both at Stars in San Francisco and Stars Oakville Cafe, in the Napa Valley. Ms. Snyder's work has appeared in Elle Magazine, Stars Desserts, Diabetic Cooking and numerous national publications. Additionally, she has developed product lines for several private companies and food industries.
