One medium clove of garlic delivers big garlic punch in this sweet vinaigrette. If you’d prefer a more subtle garlic taste, use half a clove.

Ingredients
- 1 medium garlic clove
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt or sea salt
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 8 cups chopped romaine lettuce
Instructions
- In a mortar with a pestle or with the side of a large chef’s knife, mash together the garlic and salt until a paste forms.
- In the bottom of a large salad bowl, put the garlic paste and whisk in the vinegar and pepper. Add the lettuce and toss to coat. Serve immediately.

- Ok, this is so basic, what is there to say? It's very tasty of course because I love balsamic vinegar, but I needed two more points to finish out my evening meal and so I added parmesan crisps and it was delicious!
