Return to previous pageQ: Can I breastfeed and do Kinetix?
A: Once your doctor has deemed you ready to return to a fitness plan, you can begin Kinetix. The need for energy and nutrients during lactation is even greater than that during pregnancy. Kinetix recommends you increase your K-Count by 3 and add an additional Free Target each week. For example if your K-Count was determined at K6K5K5 with 2 Free Targets, you will become a K7K6K6 with 3 Free Targets. Adequate fluid intake is just as important as energy intake. To avoid dehydration and support an adequate milk supply, increase your fluids by 1 liter per day. This can be done by consuming an extra 8 ounce glass of water at each meal and whenever you nurse your infant. Many women have concerns about losing weight after pregnancy. Some women will lose more and others may maintain or even gain weight regardless of whether or not they breastfeed. Rapid weight loss is not recommended because it can decrease milk production. As long as you meet your K-Count and weekly Free Targets, the 30 minutes of Kinetix fitness per day will help you lose body fat and still allow adequate milk production.
