Return to previous pageQ: How do I figure out my target heart rate range for exercising?
A: Your target heart rate range is from 65% to 75% of your maximum heart rate. To calculate your range, follow these steps or use our easy online Kinetix target heart rate range calculator at www.kinetixliving.com.
- To estimate your maximum heart rate, subtract
your age from 220. - To determine the low end of your target heart rate range, multiply your maximum heart rate by 65%.
- To determine the upper end of your target heart rate range, multiply your maximum heart rate by 75%.
- The two numbers from steps 2 and 3 establish your target heart rate range.
Tip: To get the best results, we suggest that you buy a heart rate monitor. A heart rate monitor allows you to easily see your heart
rate while exercising and helping you stay in your fat-burning range. We find that people often unintentionally exercise above their upper limit. Pay attention to how your body feels and how you’re breathing when you’re in your range. Most importantly, stay in your range!
