1.The Start
Place the ball of your left foot at the edge of the bench and rest the fingertips of one had on the top of the bench for support.
Stand with your back straight and knees slightly bent.

2.The Movement
Without bending your hips or knees, rise up on the ball of your foot as high as you can.
Hold for a one count then slowly lower your body until your heel goes below the bench and you feel a stretch in your calf muscle.
Repeat to complete your planned reps for this set, then do the right side. To increase the difficulty of this exercise, hold a dumbbell in one hand.

Watch your form!
Lower your heels as far as possible but do not rest your heels on the ground, keep tension on your calf muscles for the duration of the set.
